Virgilio Residence

After driving for over 16 hours, we arrived to find no key for our room and other people assigned to our room number. Nobody answered our calls or responded to anything.

Lovely place in a great spot!

The lakefront position was excellent, and the accommodation was decent. It's in a condominium with a pool, though the pool was closed because of the bad weather. Cleanliness was lacking: we noticed it after shifting the sofa bed, and the TV remote batteries were dead. The apartment had only the basics. There were clean towels and washcloths, but just one small bar of soap, and I expected at least a couple of shampoo or shower gel portions. The kitchen had dishes, a four-burner stove, and a microwave, with nothing beyond that. Still, it was better than an hourly motel room.

The view from the balcony was phenomenal, and the garden next door has a lawn where you can lie down and swim. We got a bigger third-floor apartment with a lake view and underground parking after another guest took our keys and we waited an hour in the heat for an alternative. The compensation felt fair and considerate, though the welcome itself wasn't warm. The place is dated, but clean and in a fantastic location, so it was reasonable value. The kitchen needs replacing: its old equipment was in poor shape and not clean. Ants came into the kitchen whenever food, dog bowls, or garbage bags were left on the floor, so keep food covered.
