Hotel Porta del Sole

Dinner and breakfast were both so good, and the views are gorgeous. Everyone was great, especially Alesia, who looked things up for us and went well beyond what she needed to do. Mateo was a friendly server who remembered what we liked. We loved our time here.

The walls are so thin that you can hear everything happening in the next room. The rooms are small, dated, and not as clean as I’d expect from a hotel. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 am, so an early golf tee time is out, and you can’t check out before 8 either. The restaurant is closed and there’s no bar, just the terrace, so you have to make do with what’s there. The prices are for a 4 star place, but to me this feels like a dated 2 star hotel. I wouldn’t return, especially since there’s better quality for the price in the area.

“Porta del Sol” has attentive staff, cozy rooms, and a lovely location with breathtaking views. The hotel feels homey and the service was great. The restaurant was the letdown: the food wasn’t tasty. 🤢 We won’t stay here next time.

The pool was heavenly and the view was amazing, and the staff were super friendly. Our room was a long way from the main building, so the WiFi wasn’t very good. It also had a bathtub instead of a shower.
