We booked on Booking.com, then our plans changed three days before the stay. I tried calling and texting the property to cancel or move the reservation, but got no reply at all. We were willing to switch to any date they chose so we wouldn't lose the money, but there was no availability and we ended up paying for a stay we never used.

I had a relaxing stay and felt warmly welcomed. They don't speak German, though you can still find ways to communicate if you need to ask something. Verona is reachable by bus, and getting there is pretty easy if you have the day, since buses run until around 9 p.m.

We only wanted somewhere to sleep after a long drive, since we live about three hours from Verona. But at around 11 PM it was already 30-33 degrees Celsius outside, and the room was hotter still. There was no air moving, and the flannel-like sheets and similarly warm mattress and pillow made it worse. After trying to sleep, my husband and I left at 1:30 AM, soaked in sweat. The owners should make it clear that there's no air conditioning. Being on the ground floor also meant we couldn't leave the windows wide open.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the location worked really well. We had a spacious, cozy room, just like the rest of the house, and I found the bed very comfortable. Everything was great, I'd recommend it.
