We loved our stay. The room was cozy, very nicely decorated, and the king-size room was lovely. Breakfast was included, and the place is close to the center. The owners also have an adega where you can taste and buy their own wine, which is free of preservatives.

We booked and paid through Booking.com for rooms for seven people. When I asked, the landlord confirmed four rooms. On arrival, we found they were in different apartments, which was fine since we’d arrived in the evening and planned to set off by bicycle the next morning. Then the next morning, the landlord asked for another €200 on top of what we had paid Booking.com, saying two rooms belonged to two separate apartments. We paid at first because we were rushed and taken by surprise. We emailed afterward to ask for an explanation and a receipt, but got neither. The landlord hasn’t replied since.

We were seriously overcharged for the room. We could have paid €140 less for the same rooms on Booking. Even when we asked, the landlord did not provide a receipt for the cash payment.

The central location made it easy to reach shops, bars, and restaurants. But the breakfast room offered very little for what we paid, and the room was barely heated outside the bathroom. We were given no guidance on places to visit nearby. Payment was demanded in cash because the owner said he had no card reader, and we had to push to get any kind of receipt. We won't be back, and I can't recommend it.
