Fattoria dei Cavalieri

At Lucia's, you're welcomed like family, with all due respect. The peaceful farm is lovely, and the apartments are comfortable, clean, and fully equipped. Outside there's a pretty pool, a porch, and a garden barbecue. Breakfast is fantastic, with homemade sweet and savory choices. In the little shop you can pick up their own olive oil, wine, myrtle liqueur, jams, sauces, and pasta. A wonderful quiet place in the Maremma Grossetana, just a short walk from some of Italy's most beautiful villages. Highly recommended.

The farm was peaceful, and we enjoyed a couple of mornings beside the pool. The kids were fascinated by the animals and farm activities. Grotte 2 is a charming, well-kept apartment with everything needed for an easy, independent stay. We ate out with friends, though the kitchen was fully equipped and there were farm products waiting for us when we arrived. Breakfast deserves a special mention: beautifully presented and full of genuine farm produce. I hadn't mentioned that I'm not gluten-free, but there was still lots I could eat. The next morning Lucia made a dessert for me, and everyone thought it was delicious. We also bought some of their excellent cheese to take home. We stayed here the first weekend in July.

Lucia made generous, delicious breakfasts that we looked forward to every day. My wife, our two daughters, and I spent four days in the Grotte 2 cottage. The location was fabulous, and both the service and cleanliness were excellent. This was our second holiday at Fattoria dei Cavalieri, and we were just as satisfied as the first time. The meal Lucia cooked herself was the best part for me. Her homemade noodles were savory, the meat sauce went perfectly with the pasta, and the portions were generous. Honestly, it beat any famous Italian restaurant. I wish I'd asked Lucia instead of looking for a place like Gugu. The house is clean, well equipped, and especially comfortable in the bathroom, which looks recently renovated. During my meditation, a kitten would come over wanting to play. I loved the quiet atmosphere indoors, with birds singing outside, and even a walk around the clear, peaceful surroundings felt healing. This was my first farm stay on my honeymoon in Italy, and I couldn't be happier with it. Come here if you want to slow down and relax while traveling.
