Hotel Berlinghera

I think the stay could be pleasant if you get the superior room. When I phoned to book, I expected that room because the price quoted to us matched the superior room price on the website. Other reviews also led me to expect AC, and we were travelling during a 35c heat wave. For some reason we were put in a Standard room without anyone saying anything. It hadn’t been renovated, was very hot, and the bathroom wasn’t very clean. We asked for a fan, but it was quite loud. With that heat I could barely sleep, and I’d much rather have paid 10eur more for AC. Breakfast was fine, though I’d suggest preparing it when guests arrive at the table instead of beforehand. There were lots of flies in the dining area landing on the food. I found a hair in my croissant, though I assume that was the baker’s fault rather than the hotel’s. The staff were quite nice, but only the kids spoke English. The village is tiny and a bit worn down, but it has its charm. I think it’s okay if you get the nicer room.
