Casa Laura Sorrento

I paid in full for three nights and told them days ahead that my flight would land after 20:30. They offered no arrangement and threatened to cancel unless I arrived earlier, despite knowing when I would get there. Then they cancelled the booking themselves, kept the payment, and left me without a place late at night. I had to pay for two more hotels. I have the messages, screenshots, and timeline. To me, this was dishonest and possibly fraudulent conduct. Booking.com has done nothing after months of follow-ups, and I still have no refund or resolution. Casa Laura behaved unprofessionally, and Booking.com hasn't held them accountable. Avoid staying here. I don't want anyone else to end up stranded like I was.

The bathroom had a terrible black mold problem. When we told the hostess, she denied it and brushed us off. We asked to change rooms, but they refused. After we went back, we found they'd painted over the mold, which was still there. They wouldn't move us or refund us, and the room was bad enough that we had to leave the hotel and lose our money. The service was terrible too. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt I had to this time. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We booked four nights for my fiancée, my cousin, and me. When we arrived, Laura seemed a bit standoffish, though I assumed she was just busy. Then I went into the bathroom and saw a large patch of mold on the ceiling over the shower. I tried to shrug it off, but the shower tiles were covered in mold too, so I called the others to look. My fiancée spoke to the desk person early the next morning. She said the dark tile edges were because the building was old, and after a lot of excuses they still weren't offering a refund so we could find somewhere cleaner. She offered to move us, and my fiancée agreed so we wouldn't lose our money. We had ferry tickets to Amalfi that morning and were told to leave our luggage by the door so it could be moved from room 22 to room 25. While we were in Amalfi, Laura messaged through booking.com asking us to confirm the room change within two hours. We'd already agreed in person that morning. With reception being poor in the Amalfi area, messaging us instead of calling made no sense. When we came back, we were still in the same room. It smelled strongly of something like Clorox, and they'd tried to clean the mold. The ceiling had been painted over, but the black bumps were still visible. We ended up leaving without a refund. I've traveled plenty and never before been put in a room this dirty. They weren't clean or friendly, so don't book here if you want to avoid a miserable stay.

Just after they cancelled my reservation, I called to ask them to restore it. They said the room had already been booked and there was nothing they could do. They didn't take my plans or the consequences of cancelling into account. I found somewhere else in Sorrento, more central and much nicer for the money. I can't recommend this place. The staff weren't kind or customer-focused, and seemed interested only in earning money from tourists. I should have paid more attention to the poor reviews I'd read before booking. I insisted on trying it anyway, so that part was my own mistake. Hope this helps.
