Hotel Eden

The location made it easy to walk around town, and Piazza Tasso was very close. We spent three nights here, from 15/9 to 18/9, and really enjoyed it. The room and bathroom were clean, and our room was the most spacious we'd had while traveling through Rome and Florence. It also had a balcony, and the hotel has a pool. Being surrounded by greenery was lovely, and the reception staff were very friendly. Breakfast was great.

This isn't the kind of hotel for spending the whole day lounging around. It's a great base right in the heart of Sorrento, with everything close at hand. We stayed last year and had an excellent visit. Our room was upgraded when we arrived, giving us a big balcony, and it was comfortable, clean, quiet, and tidied every day. The owner greeted us and was kind, as were the rest of his family. The hosts offered to arrange tours and restaurant reservations. We politely declined, and they stayed courteous and friendly throughout. We treated them with respect, and they treated us the same way. Breakfast was simple, but we never left hungry. I know other guests have had worse experiences, and I can't speak for them. I wanted to share ours because I think the honest, hardworking Italians who run this hotel deserve better reviews.

The room felt pathetic for USD370 a night. There was no tissue box, water, or boiler. When we asked for a boiler, a tissue box, or extra towels, the answer was no. The location was the only saving grace.

The gardens gave the place a real Italian feel, and the pool area was small but clean and peaceful. The kids loved the hotel cat. We had a fantastic stay as a family of five. Staff were so welcoming when we arrived and even brought our bags up. Nothing felt like too much trouble. The rooms were spacious, with big beds, and everything was lovely. The town's shops and bars are only a short walk away. Highly recommend Eden.
