Orange Suites

My family and I left after about an hour, and still ended up paying $500 CAD for one night. Expedia and my travel agent arranged for us to be charged only that one night, but I felt this was in bad faith since the property's condition isn't disclosed when booking. I booked five months earlier and should have been told about the construction, which was loud, dusty, and clearly had been underway for longer than a few months. We wanted to leave after notifying both Expedia and the agent. The building was covered in scaffolding and under renovation, with no reception. I couldn't find it at first. I had been told someone would meet me in the lobby, but a random old man pointed me to the third floor when I asked where Orange Suites was. The building felt dark, dirty, dingy, outdated, and falling apart, like an abandoned old age home. The elevators only fit about three people squeezed together. The door to Orange Suites opened onto renovated apartments set close together. Lucia met me instead of Francesco, who was apparently in a meeting. She was pleasant and understood my concerns. The rooms were somewhat modern in style, but felt cold, dark, and unsettling. The curtains were open and it was still dark inside. The view and balcony also showed how outdated the place was. I hadn't expected the suites to be inside a residential building. The listing called them townhomes, which is inaccurate. The fridge couldn't get cold enough for our medication that needed refrigeration. Someone came to check it, but said it couldn't be fixed and wouldn't work for our needs. The whole family agreed this wasn't somewhere we wanted to spend three nights. I was very disappointed and felt misled. I wouldn't book or recommend this property. The building itself is part of the experience, and ours was a bad one. Two stars at best.
