The location is good, and the views over the Bay are amazing. The rooms have been renovated. Getting inside takes a bit of planning since you have to call someone to let you in, so it feels more like an Airbnb than a hotel. Call ahead. The suites have heaters, but the place was still very cold. There’s not much service, and you’re left to manage on your own to some extent. If you want an easy, comfortable stay with good service, this probably isn’t the place. If you’re fine with a more independent Airbnb-style setup, it’s a nice option.

This was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. There were awful insects, and I got a skin infection. The apartment was filthy, smelled bad, and was in a horrible location. There were no check-in or check-out instructions, and the advertisements made it sound good when it wasn’t. Everything felt dirty and unclean. The people were very rude. Avoid it and stay in a hotel in the centre.

We were moved to a room at their sister hotel within 30 minutes of checking in. Before that, check-in was at Hotel Flora, where we had to wait for the room to be cleaned and for someone to show us where it was. The room itself was a decent size for the price and actually very nice. The location was great, the shower was huge, and the balcony view was amazing. There weren’t many amenities, the fridge was dirty and rusty, and the AC didn’t work.

The location was great, and the balcony had a beautiful view, but the stay wasn’t worth the price. The room wasn’t clean when we arrived, and although we were meant to have a double bed, it was two single mattresses pushed together and wasn’t comfortable. The room wasn’t cleaned or made up when we returned the next day, and the same thing happened for the following three days. In the end, I politely asked the man cleaning another room if he could do ours too. He said yes, okay, in a rude tone.

We left after one awful night because the apartment was infested with ants. We came back from a day out to find ants all over both beds, our clothes, and our cases. The fridge was extremely hot and made a noise like it might explode. When we arrived, we also discovered the apartment wasn’t beside the hotel at all, but in a block where most residents were locals. The lift costs 20 cents each time, and we were told it had been installed because the locals don’t like the flats being used as holiday lets. We called the manager, Marino, but got no answer, so we went to the hotel reception to explain what was happening. He didn’t seem bothered and didn’t want to come see the apartment.
