Vhome

The apartment was very clean, and the location, price, and service were all great. They even left snacks, coffee, and a bottle of wine, which was thoughtful and appreciated. But that mattress was painfully hard. By the second night it hurt so much I wanted to cry. If you like sleeping on something that feels like the floor, you’ll be fine here. I really loved the location and customer service, but that bed was NO BUENO!!! 💔

There was nobody at check-in, just an envelope with a key card. I had to wait and then call a number to find out what to do. I also saw that hotels.com offers a full refund if plans change. I regularly stay in Sorrento and would have come back, but this has put me off. I believe VHome knew this was a duplicate booking, not a cancellation, and they still owe me $141. I’m planning to post the same review wherever I can. If VHome wants to make it right, they have my contact information. S. Gore I booked two rooms through the American Airlines hotel program online, but the immediate confirmation email showed only one. I booked another, thinking the site had timed out or processed just one room. When I called AA support, they told me I’d double booked the second room. I’ve made many attempts to get the $141 refund. This was an error caused by several problems, not a cancellation or change of plans. I stayed on Dec 27th, with two people and two rooms. Even AMEX couldn’t get my refund. Also, nobody collected the required Italian tax payment. I know it’s supposed to be paid in cash at all establishments. We didn’t pay, and no one came to collect it. Italian tax bureau, you should investigate.

The best thing about this place was how close it is to Sorrento centre, just a short walk away. The room was comfortable, though a bit tired, and had a broken light fitting and an odd shower unit that needed repair. The “hotel” takes up parts of two floors in an apartment block, and we found it hard to locate. There was no one available when we arrived, only an envelope with a key card. Other guests got the broadband password on arrival, but we had to wait until the next morning. Breakfast was adequate, though there was no milk for cereal and the food had been bought from Lidl. Late risers missed the croissants and similar items. The oranges were delicious.

The location was good, but I really wouldn’t bother with Vhome. The directions for finding the place were terrible, and the staff were no help. A chair, the shower, its door, and the shower light were all broken. There weren’t even any spoons for coffee. Worst of all, there were two shower mats stacked on the floor, with an inch of thick, wet, moldy dirt underneath. I asked the person at reception to send someone to clean it, but nobody ever came. Breakfast was awful too.
