Villa La Terrazza Apartments

The setting gives you amazing private views, and the location is a big plus. You can walk down from Sorrento train station without much trouble, and the pier is also downhill, with stairs, and visible from the accommodation. The town and its beach clubs are all within walking distance. That's what you're paying for. Our room was on the terrace, so we could step straight out to the beautiful pool and view each morning. It also meant hearing people walking by and noise from the nearby restaurants and clubs. Wind meant the floodlights stayed on all night, and bright morning light came in, so earplugs and an eye mask would help. The TV was new and let us watch Netflix, though I can't say what the other rooms are like. The complimentary drinks in the fridge were a nice touch. Inside, the finishes felt very dated. The room didn't seem clean even after servicing: the floors were dirty, and the bathroom had mould on the tap and shower head that I struggled to remove. The bed was quite old, so we were glad they provided slippers. The pool was so heavily chlorinated that we didn't use it. If you'll be out on day trips most of the time, this could work well. I don't think it would feel fully relaxing otherwise, unless you stay on the terrace.

The view from the shared terrace is beautiful, and the location is very good. We appreciated the drinks in the mini fridge, and the man who greeted us was friendly and polite after they asked by email when we'd arrive. The room's decor was cute, but very outdated. The tiles were cracked, crumbling, and dirty, and there were cobwebs on the walls. The bed sagged in the middle and was uncomfortable. The bathroom was in bad shape, with an ancient shower and toilet that barely worked. It took ages for warm water to come through, and it never got properly hot. There was usually nobody on site to sort out problems. A group on the shared terrace ran around shouting until 1 a.m. One night, after we'd climbed Mount Vesuvius and were dusty, we came back to find our towels had been taken and not replaced. We had an early flight and needed to wash before then. When we called the number we'd been given, she first said we'd have to wait until 9 the next morning for “the guy” to bring towels. After I said that wasn't acceptable, she was rude and dismissive at first, then eventually explained over WhatsApp how to get into another empty room for towels, after hanging up on me. The view is lovely, but probably much like other coastal hotels in sorrento. I wouldn't book here again.

Cara and her team made our five nights here feel comfortable and special. They were incredibly hospitable, and the accommodation, its location, and the amenities were all lovely. The atmosphere was excellent throughout our stay. Thank you, Cara and team.

The views are really amazing, and the location is superb. Everything is close by, with even the farthest place only a 15-minute walk away. Our room, though, had a tile floor that never felt properly clean. We wore slippers so we wouldn't bring dust or dirt into bed. The bathroom was tiny, especially the shower. They changed the towels each day, but we had to ask for toilet paper during our last two days. There was a fridge and complimentary drinks. There's no lobby, so don't expect the shared-area amenities you might get at a place with one. Still, the location and the view are fantastic.
