Villa Walter

Dinner out on the deck is fantastic, thanks to Ornella, a wonderful cook and host. The rooms are comfortable, and each night we could watch the sunset over the Bay of Naples, followed by fireworks. Just magical. The location overlooks the bay, and I can’t wait to return to Villa Walter for a few more days.

Ornella was such a generous host. She put together a huge five-course dinner for 13 guests, most of them friends staying in a nearby AirBnB, and charged an incredible price. She also made us 40 sandwiches in several varieties to take along on our boat tour the next day. We couldn’t have been happier with the food or hospitality. We spent four nights at Villa Walter, and the view was absolutely breathtaking.

The host and her assistant looked after us so well, with lots of warmth and useful tips. They can also arrange breakfast or dinner if you let the host know your dietary needs and preferred timing in advance. The home-cooked food was delicious, generous, and great value as an extra. From the main bedroom, the view looked like a postcard at every hour, and at night too. It was so peaceful that I regretted having trips planned every day. I’d love to come back and spend a few days just enjoying the view and quiet. The place exceeded my expectations. I’d expected just somewhere to sleep, but the scenery, comfort, facilities, and hospitality made the stay wonderful. It’s on the SS145, making it easy to take a bus into Sorrento below or head farther along the coast to Positano, Amalfi, and other towns and villages. From Sorrento, you can connect to other buses, ferries or boats, and trains. I’d recommend staying here and would happily return.

Ornella serves excellent meals at more than fair prices, and one dinner gives you enough to eat for two days, so we didn’t need to cook. The apartment is clean, well equipped for breakfast, and has a breathtaking view. There’s a small pool that does the job for relaxing on the veranda. The animals are gentle, especially Bimba and Pipa, who are always looking for a cuddle. One of the best apartments I’ve visited. We had a very pleasant stay and would gladly come back.
