Villa Pandolfi Elmi

Fabrizio's kindness made us feel we'd found just the right place in Spello. It's clear he takes real pride in looking after his ancestral family home and sharing it with guests. Our family will remember this stay for years. The 17th-century villa has rustic character and a real sense of history, while the old trees and surrounding countryside make it a lovely place to unwind and take in Umbria. The stay was comfortable as well as charming, and Fabrizio's attentive welcome made it all the more enjoyable. A memorable experience in the heart of Umbria, with the beauty of the countryside and a strong sense of Italian hospitality.

Fabrizio and his family were gracious hosts, and the house made a great base for exploring the heart of Umbria. We stayed shortly before the Christmas closure and really enjoyed our time there. Hearing about the history of Fabrizio's historic house was fascinating, and we were fortunate to see the building's chapel too.

I was travelling for business with a colleague and spent one night at Villa Pandolfi Elmi, though we had planned on two. I missed my flight, and Mr. Fabrizio came to get me from the railway station in the nearby town and drove me straight to my meeting. His help went beyond what I'd expect from the usual Italian hospitality. I absolutely recommend it. The villa is a hidden gem for anyone wanting to experience the feel of a Renaissance Italian palazzo. The owning family still lives in parts of the historic mansion, which gives it a cozy touch.

The two suites are huge and clean, breakfast has plenty to choose from, and the villa is only a five-minute walk from the center of Spello. It still feels peaceful and quiet in the Umbrian countryside, with outdoor space for reading under the trees or relaxing in the sun. Parking is in the courtyard. What made this stay special was Fabrizio's genuine care. He goes out of his way to make guests feel comfortable, shares information about things to see and do in Spello, and recommended some excellent restaurants. This feels very different from a B&B where you just collect a key code and barely see the host. The 18th-century villa has been kept as close as possible to its original design.
