We really enjoyed the pool and grounds, which were kept beautiful and in great shape. The rooms are dated, but they’re spacious, comfortable, very clean, and the air conditioning works. They could use a few simple touch-ups, though there’s nothing else wrong with them. The hotel sits right by the beach, where you can watch a beautiful sunset each evening. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the bottom of the old town, then there are plenty of stairs if you want to reach the top. The lifeguards, including Filippo, were friendly and always happy to help, and the staff offered useful suggestions for places to eat and getting around. I was worried after reading some of the reviews before booking, but was pleasantly surprised. Don’t put too much stock in the bad ones.

The room was a bit dated, but comfortable. The pillows were really uncomfortable, though. The hospitality staff were friendly and gave great service, while the front desk staff weren’t friendly or helpful. The location was great.

The hotel has a charming, beautiful feel, and it’s right on the beach with a pool. The room itself was plain and basic, with nothing romantic or beautiful about it. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the historic center, or an easy trip by bike. Many of the beach chairs were already reserved, even though nobody was using them. Service was terrible, especially when trying to get drinks at the pool.

Mario and I are now here for the third year, and this place feels like our family away from home. The management team does whatever it can to make our stays comfortable, relaxing, and fun. The beach and food are amazing, and the people are friendly and ready to help with anything you need. The location is great, with everywhere easy to reach on foot. Grand Hotel la Playa is the best of the best. Libby

The town, sea, and location are nice, and the hotel might be too if it weren’t for the flies. Lunch was horrible because of them, and the staff did nothing about it. There are tables inside, but they wouldn’t move dinner service indoors, so the flies were all over our food and us every day. A complete disaster. The Wi-Fi was very poor, the showers in the rooms were extremely small, and the air conditioning was weak.
