La Palombaia

The rooms were spotless, everything was new and working properly, and the bed was especially comfortable. It’s a wonderful place to rest. Outside, the lawn is lovely, and you can lie there and look up at the sky. Cinzia and her mother are warm, wonderful women, and it was a real pleasure talking with them. The house itself has a story of love and hard work behind it, and even its stone feels connected to that history. The surrounding nature adds to the beauty and feeling of the place. Pilgrims often pass through or stay here, and there’s a lovely international sense of brotherhood and hospitality. Foreign visitors sometimes stop at the attached shop for a drink or some delicious Umbrian products. I was completely charmed by the place. And the garden has some super star cats. Unlike famous humans, this one lets you fall for his little face, greets you with a “meow,” keeps you company, and stays very polite.

Cinzia is very kind and friendly, and I recommend trying her cooking and olive oil. The place is surrounded by nature and quiet, while still being just a short drive from wonderful places. The highway is easy to reach, with Spoleto and Foligno less than 20 minutes away.

We came back to Umbria and stayed again at La Palobaia di Poreta. The welcome is always top-notch. This period property sits peacefully among the olive groves, a short distance from Spoleto and Umbria’s many attractions. The rooms and apartments have every comfort.

The owners are kind and attentive, and the apartments are comfortable, with outdoor spaces in this period residence. It’s a good fit if you want to experience authentic Umbria, surrounded by nature in a small village with striking architecture and scenery. The location is a few kilometers from the better-known parts of northern Umbria, making it a handy base for day trips and returning in the evening.
