Ahr Hotel Villa Alighieri

For the price, you get what you'd expect. The rooms were very hot, smelled of smoke, and had thin walls. It's not a wonderful luxury stay, but the cost sets expectations.

Dinner cost 15€ and was anything but edible. At breakfast, there was only one plate with a few slices of ham and cheese, and people who arrived before us had eaten most of it. That's normal enough, but they should still serve anyone who comes to the table. A very big minus. The room and bathroom were barely clean, and the sound insulation was awful, so noise from upstairs kept me from sleeping. Pictures tell the whole story.

The bedding was dirty, and nobody had cleaned the bedroom.

The food was frozen, the salad stale, and cockroaches were literally in every room. The olive oil was the only decent thing. My friend even found a hole in the sink. The service was mean and unhelpful, and the place itself was awful. One star out of five is generous. I don't recommend it.
