Hotel sainti is a cute, quirky, good-value place in an excellent spot for budget-minded travelers. It’s right in the middle of the shopping and dining area. Breakfast is included, with fresh fruit, pastries and cheeses, and the owner makes the best cappuccinos herself. It’s run by a husband and wife who are extremely helpful and responsive. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re perfectly adequate, and the owners’ collection of antiques is displayed throughout the hotel. One thing to know: rooms aren’t made up daily, though you can ask for anything you need. There’s an elevator to each floor, but we used the stairs once our bags were settled.

The location is about as good as it gets, but the rooms are basic, with no kettle or mini fridge, and breakfast was very basic too. What really took the cake was the owner. He was rude and obnoxious from the start, never said a polite word, and seemed to deliberately give us incomplete information about tours so we’d book them through him. He also came across as very creepy. Honestly, stay away.

We spent about a week here and found it good value, with a pleasant atmosphere and nice staff. The hotel is very conveniently located in central Stresa, close to the pier on the lake. Our room was extremely clean, and I really liked the wooden furniture and decoration. Breakfast was good. Owner Federico and his manager Taya were super helpful, polite and charming.

My wife and I had a lovely three-day stay and would come back. It’s a quiet boutique hotel close to the waterfront, restaurants and ferries. The owners were super friendly and helpful. They helped us get the train tickets we needed for the rest of our trip and were attentive at breakfast each morning.

It’s right in the middle of a lively area, with everything you might need, from restaurants to groceries and pharmacies. Swimming spots on the beach are a very quick walk away, including Lov Beach Lounge, and it’s also a short walk to the ferry port for trips to the islands. We came from Zurich for a weekend, and the owner made us feel very welcome. He shared tons of great recommendations, and we had a really nice breakfast at Hotel Saini. I’d highly recommend it for couples, or anyone wanting a getaway in a beautiful spot 😊
