Blu House Bed & Breakfast

We arrived to find that the owner didn’t know about our reservation. We’d booked through the designated platform and called her, but at first she said nothing had come through. Hours later, while we were on the way, she said she’d found the email among messages from earlier days. It was in English, she said, and she hadn’t understood it. She told us to come to the property and said she’d sort things out. After checking with colleagues and the NUNS, her proposed fix was a small room she said she usually gives to kids for 20 euros per person after they leave the nightclub for one night, followed by a move to another room. Once we got there, though, we were put in that small room and told we’d have to stay in it. The room change was no longer an option. It had bunk beds, with a long black hair on the pillow, and a tiny bathroom with a toilet, a showerhead meant to make up for the lack of a bidet, and a mini sink. There wasn’t even a proper shower. In the morning, I wanted at least a coffee, but the kettle was dirty, used, and unwashed. We left because staying another day was out of the question. Between the bathroom situation, being told first that we’d move and then that we wouldn’t, and the booking email being left unread because the owner didn’t understand it, we’d ended up without a decent, livable room. For two adults, that room was impossible, especially after a day out as tourists when you need to wash up. There was no way to do that properly. We forgot to leave the keys when we went out in the morning. The owner nearly harassed us to get them back, as if we could have done anything with them. We returned them and paid. I want to stress that we had already paid on the booking platform. We were also charged another 40 euros each at the property for the room, not 20 euros, which THEY APPEAR TO BE USUAL FOR REGULAR GUESTS. So, stay away from this B&B. Too many people are improvising these days. And dear lady, read your emails more carefully, and take a good English course, and Italian too.

Respectful, simple, and a little romantic, with a professional, distinctive welcome. A comfortable place for a dream evening, and one I’d recommend.
