Hotel Ariston & Palazzo Santa Caterina

The breakfast was excellent, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was golden. The hotel is a bit dated, but it still has that Italian vibe and style. The location is A+++, just a few minutes’ walk from the bus station.

Breakfast was very good, with a decent range and quality, but I wouldn’t recommend staying at Ariston Hotel. I spent two nights there and came away disappointed. Getting in was difficult, especially by car, and the parking area was hard to reach. Finding your way between different parts of the hotel was unnecessarily confusing and inconvenient. Several times, reception staff seemed unprepared to help or handle requests efficiently. The rooms were basic, with outdated, poorly equipped bathrooms and fewer amenities than I’d expect from this kind of hotel.

Hotel Ariston was a comfortable, welcoming place to come back to after exploring Taormina. We enjoyed the pool area and shared spaces for relaxing, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The views were beautiful, the location convenient, and the staff friendly and attentive, making everything run smoothly. A wonderful choice for a memorable stay.

Breakfast was amazing and the staff were really nice, but the rooms are another story. We stayed for 10 days, and the bedding was changed just once, after we asked. The floors weren’t cleaned, and we had to request basics like toilet paper and coffee. We even emailed while we were there to get those things done. They wouldn’t turn on the air conditioning, saying it wasn’t cold enough. If you’re from England, 30 is hot. They weren’t helpful at all. It’s a fine 3-star hotel, not 4, and an uncomfortable stay for the high price. We’ve learned our lesson: avoid the expensive corporate chain and go somewhere smaller.
