Donsanto Casa Vacanze

Our host, Simona, was awesome and helped us with everything we asked for, even taking us to the bus station. The apartment is about three or four minutes from Corso Umberto, close to the city center. Everything was amazing. I definitely recommend Donsanto.

We stayed in the Bianchetto apartment, which was very nice, and Taormina itself is wonderful. The streets could be cleaner, though, and the town management has plenty to revisit. Keep an eye on the scenery and history, and consider visiting Castelmola, the Aeolian Islands, Goledialcantare, Giardini Naxos, Etna, Noto, Marzamemi, Isola Bella, and Marzarò Island. Etna reaches 3000m, so bring sweatshirts and tracksuits for an excursion. The water at Marzarò Island was cloudy and dirty. Watch out for tourist prices, which can be quadrupled. In Naples, a vendor tried to charge 10 euros for 6 apricots and 1 bunch of grapes. They say he's a fool! The B&B is extremely clean and in a great central spot, just a few kilometers from the main street. It has a stovetop for breakfast and coffee pods, though the water in the machine smelled bad, so I recommend changing it. It's suitable for 2 adults and 2 children at most, but there's limited room for suitcases, and for a week I'd say it's better for two people. There are no mirrors, so you can't check your outfit, and no mosquito nets, so bring your own. The mosquitoes devoured our children. The front door smells of mold, and it lingers in the hallway. We also weren't given a recycling calendar or any information about it by the owners, and a larger drying rack would help. There is NO PARKING at the property, and parking in the residential area is prohibited. We got 2 fines. The municipal lots, including Lumbi Porta Catania, are a gamble if you're hoping for an open space, so parking can become a serious problem. We figured out that parking at Porta Catania and taking the elevator to the 7th floor gets you into the center of Taormina, only 5 minutes from the B&B. Have a nice holiday!

Simona and her husband were so kind and helpful, and they made this one of our family's most wonderful holidays! We stayed in the Bianchetto apartment, which was lovely, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. Its location was ideal for walking around Taormina's center, and having a pass to park right in front was really convenient.
