Hotel Isola Bella

The staff were nice and the view was gorgeous, but the room was dirty and had no AC. The only solution they offered was to open the sliding balcony door, and mosquitoes bit us all night. The bathroom was practically unusable. It felt much more like a hostel, and I wouldn’t stay again.

We were happy spending the day at the beach, just a stone’s throw away, and the room balcony had an amazing view. Two sunbeds and an umbrella cost €30 for the day, though it’s more in peak season. The staff were nice and helpful when we needed them. The room was very dated, but it did the job for three nights by the beach. Don’t expect much beyond a bed and bathroom, with air conditioning that works but is noisy. Next time we’ll stay up the hill in actual Taormina, where there’s more atmosphere, restaurants, and bars, and we’ll save the €10 return cable car trip each day. We probably wouldn’t stay here again. If you do choose it, go in with a very open mind.

The reception staff were so helpful and friendly. They gave me detailed directions around town and information on the bus schedule, and I’m especially grateful for that. My single room was clean and nice. The only downside was the bathroom, especially the shower area, which I felt could have been a little more spacious. From the balcony, you can spend hours taking in the beautiful sea view, with Isola Bella right in front. The hotel itself is nice and clean. It’s a great place, highly recommended.

The view is amazing, and the location is great. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the air conditioning was robust. There’s no parking, and there are lots of stairs. The beds were very hard, like sleeping on a board, and the pillows were flat. I’m not a fan of the polyester bedding. There were no garbage cans, and the furniture felt unnecessary. The place is dated and needs a refresh. You stay for the view only, and there’s no restaurant on site.
