Porta del Tocco Design Rooms

The hotel is very central, just 30 seconds from Porta Catania. Our room was impeccably clean, towels were changed daily, and breakfast was very fresh. On our first day, they prepared a packed breakfast because ours started at 8.30 and we had an early excursion. Reception closes from 8.30 in the evening until 8.30 in the morning, so keep your key with you. Grazie Lorenzo ed anche altro persona(dimenticato il suo nome). Siete state tanti accoliente. Thanks, Lorenzo, you were always very helpful.

It's clean and well located, close to the car park and town center, and the staff were fantastic and very helpful. The rooms aren't large, but the beds are. Some bathrooms have translucent doors. Otherwise, everything was great.

The room matched the photos exactly, and the towels and blankets felt high quality. It was probably the best hotel stay I’ve ever had. Prices were medium to high for me, though they seemed about average for Taormina. I’d definitely recommend it.

Checkout was awful. We rented a beach towel for 4 euro and left it at reception, but apparently there was no record of it being returned, so we were charged FIFTY EURO. They said it was a designer towel. Even if we hadn’t brought it back, a charge that high should be explained when you rent it, especially since beach towels can easily get left behind or picked up by someone else. If the woman who rented it to us had mentioned a 50 EUR charge, we wouldn’t have touched it. Receptionist Anna refused to change the charge and accused me of trying to steal the towel. She wanted to check my luggage before I left and threatened to call the police if I didn’t pay. We were rushing to catch a flight, so we paid the 50. I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
