This is a pleasant, convenient place off the main street, with clean, comfortable rooms. It was called a “hotel” when I stayed, but I see it’s now described as a “dependance,” or guest house, which is more accurate. It’s a small place with rooms and doesn’t have the facilities you might expect from a hotel.

The self-service setup at Hotel Le Chevalier made everything easy, and we had no problems during the stay. Its spot on the cliff is lovely: a few steps down take you to Corso Umberto, with its shops, cafés, and restaurants. Walk uphill to the castle for a striking view of Mount Etna, gently smoking in the distance. It was a memorable sight. A comfortable, convenient base for Taormina.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location worked really well. It’s a family-run place, and the host was extremely kind. I’d gladly stay here again.

The room was roomy by European standards, with plenty of storage, a table and chairs, a fridge, and a desk. Two windows gave us city views and good airflow. Service was great, too. The location is just a few steps up from the main shopping street. If you’ll arrive outside the limited reception hours, make sure to plan ahead.

The location is central, close to the main strip, and the room itself was okay. But ours didn’t look as nice or clean as the photos, and the shower pressure was only average. For the price, I don’t understand why the place is rated so highly. It wasn’t exactly cheap, so I’d spend a little more on a nicer hotel. The host says we booked an “economy double” and were upgraded to a deluxe terrace room. That’s simply false. I have the receipts and payment records showing we paid for the deluxe terrace room. Dishonest from the host.
