Splendid Hotel Taormina

We were both left with red, itchy flea bites all over our bodies, and the room also had many cockroaches, spiders, and other insects. It was a very uncomfortable stay and raised serious concerns for us about cleanliness and hygiene. After we reported the problem, the administration said we'd be moved in about seven hours to a better room on a higher floor with a better view. When the move finally happened, the new room was on the ground floor and was significantly worse, with a poorer view than our original room. The staff handled our complaint badly. One administrative employee was extremely rude and unprofessional, and our request to speak with a manager or someone senior was ignored completely. We stayed at Splendid Hotel Taormina from November 26 to November 29, and the experience was unacceptable. We would not recommend the hotel, especially for anyone who expects cleanliness, professionalism, and basic customer service.

Cetina, who looked after my room, made my stay especially memorable. She was attentive, warm, and helpful, and always went beyond what I needed. The rooms were comfortable and impeccably clean, and the hotel was beautifully maintained. I had a wonderful time at the Splendid Hotel in Taormina. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and the room was spotless with a lovely balcony view and good wifi. We were welcomed warmly and check-in went smoothly during our two-night stay. I'd gladly come back.

We booked the least expensive room for six nights, so its small size and lack of a view were fair enough. Maybe next time I'd pay a little extra for a view and more of a treat. The hotel has good facilities for a fair price, especially in Taormina where hotel stays can get expensive. The pool was pleasant, with music, a bar, and towels supplied by the hotel. Our air conditioning worked really well, and housekeeping each day was careful with our belongings. The staff were friendly, and arranging a taxi at the front desk was quick and easy. My one gripe is that people can claim sunbeds by leaving towels and belongings on them. Some guests would be away for hours before actually using the beds. I'd stay here again.
