Taormina Palace Hotel

Anita, who served breakfast, was wonderful, always smiling and offering lovely food and great advice about excursions and the island. The food was spectacular, and our room greeted us with a beautiful sunrise each day. Such a well-kept secret, full of Sicily love. Amore! 10+++

We chose breakfast from the counter or asked the staff to prepare something fresh, and it was good. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel is only a few minutes' walk from Taormina centre. Our superior double room had a balcony with a great view, and it was very clean.

I had the worst hotel experience I've ever had in Italy. The rooms smelled strongly of damp and mold, and maintenance seemed nonexistent. The star rating didn't match what I experienced. I found the owners rude and unprofessional, with what I felt were racist attitudes, and they seemed to have no proper hospitality background. I'm convinced many of the positive online reviews were written by the hotel itself. After paying, getting a cancellation or refund seemed nearly impossible, and I felt I would lose my money. The place mistreats guests and damages Italy's tourism reputation. Italian tourism authorities and the local municipality should urgently inspect it and take necessary action. If you decide to go, don't pay before inspecting the room, or your holiday could become a nightmare.

We were in Taormina for our wedding and stayed three nights. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful with getting rides and helping us navigate the city. We hadn't told them we were getting married, but when we asked for a cab an hour before the ceremony, they congratulated us and said we should have let them know. When we returned, champagne and snacks were waiting on the bed. Later they checked whether that was okay, saying it was what they usually did for newlyweds. We loved the gesture and thanked them.
