Villa Almoezia Charming BB

It felt more like a charming guesthouse than a regular hotel, which is just what made it special. We only stayed two days and wished we could have stayed much longer. Sebastiano welcomed us late at night with so much warmth that we felt at home straight away. He’s one of the kindest people you could meet. The service was flawless and everything was spotlessly clean. There’s a breathtaking view from the property and the pool, and the garden is beautifully kept, with fruit trees, grapevines, and lush greenery. If you want somewhere to relax and really recharge, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back. With love and hugs, Nadia.

The only things I liked were the coastline views and being able to have our own snacks for dinner on one of the terraces. I don’t understand the high ratings or comments. They only accept cash, which I wasn’t comfortable with. The rooms are a homemade addition to a private home on a steep slope. There’s a basic set of stairs and a ramp that didn’t fit our luggage, so imagine hauling everything back up to the top when we left. The B&B is at the top of 500 steps from Taormina town, and you need a good level of fitness. Breakfast isn’t included despite the B&B name, and costs 7€ per person. When we questioned this, it quickly dropped to 5€, with the explanation that preparing breakfast took a lot of effort. The rooms have no sound insulation. You can hear guests next door using the toilet and clearly make out their conversations. At 150€ per room, I felt the quality and service didn’t justify the price, even with the proximity to Taormina. It felt extortionate. There’s a small pool, more like a pond, that can’t fit more than four people.

This was the best place we stayed during our trip to Sicily. Sebastiano and his family were excellent hosts, anticipating what we might need and making us feel at home. The B&B is beautiful, with a large garden, little hidden paths to a pool with a view, and clean, tastefully decorated rooms with all the necessary amenities. It’s up at the top of Taormina, and you can get to the center by stairs, bus, or taxi. Breakfast was very nice, with fresh ingredients from the garden and homemade cakes. Beautiful views and wonderful hosts. I highly recommend it!

The pool sits at the far end of the garden, tucked away for privacy and with a lovely view. The rooms are tidy and cute, and breakfast with fruit and herbs from the garden was delicious. Sebastiano is such a kind, welcoming host and really makes you feel at home. The B&B is next to a restaurant with beautiful views at night, and just two minutes from a lookout and the roughly 540 steps down to town, about a 20-minute walk. During the day, Linea Verde stops 10 m away and can take you back and forth, though it may run late or not appear in the evening. Be ready for a €15 taxi or the climb back up the steps. Such a great place to stay in Taormina.
