Everything was perfect at villa athena. We had a lovely room, a nice view from the terrace and very nice staff. We had an amazing stay!

We arrived at the villa and were told our reservation had been canceled, with no explanation. The worst experience ever. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it.

The hosts were quite unpleasant, and the room was awful: it smelled, was dirty, and sat in the basement. Its only window faced the funicular exit. The terrace itself is objectively nice, and the photos make it look enticing, but that didn’t make up for the room.

A warning to anyone booking: the room we got looked nothing like the website photos. There was no view, just another house’s garden, and the room was much smaller than expected. At €70 a night for two, it felt very expensive for what was offered. The mattress was in terrible shape, with springs digging into our backs, so we couldn’t sleep properly. They’d pushed two 80cm beds together to pass them off as a 1.60m bed. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Alessio greeted us warmly and showed us both the room and where to park. Our sea view room was clean and fresh, and the location made everything easy: the cable car is just 20 meters away and Taormina’s center is under five minutes on foot. We stayed four nights and had a perfect time. Thank you, and we recommend Villa Athena.
