Palazzo Matà Boutique Hotel

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and breakfast was fab. We had a fabulous sea-view room, with a gorgeous bathroom, everything we needed, and an extremely comfortable bed. The road outside is very busy, but the soundproofing worked so well that we barely noticed it. I really didn't want to leave. I'm unlikely to return to Taranto, but if I do, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The hotel's made me reconsider staying in Taranto, and I've been to countless hotels in Italy. For a fair price, this is easily in my top 1%. We were welcomed so warmly when we arrived, and the staff were attentive but laid-back. Nothing we asked for was too much. The room was the best part: spacious, tastefully designed, with a big comfortable bed, luxurious bedding, and every amenity we could need. It really made us feel special. It's a short ten-minute walk from the station. We had to leave early, but they were so accommodating about breakfast and basically told us they'd be at our service. An absolutely beautiful hotel that surprised and delighted us. The only place to stay in Taranto!

The hotel is close to the sea and has a very good view. We parked right in front, though reaching the hotel meant taking a narrow road. The bathroom has a glass wall separating it from the bedroom, while the toilet is screened off by a regular wall.

We found the old building's modernized room clean and comfortable, while still keeping some traditional details that make southern Italy a unique place to visit. Breakfast was generous and really well made, and guest parking made an overnight stay convenient. We couldn't have the welcome drink when we arrived, so they gave it to us on the way out, a very nice touch. It's a standout family-run place, with thoughtful service and care for the details. Definitely recommend!
