Urban Rooms

It was a short stay, just one night, but a very pleasant one. The place is in a quiet area, and the silence made for a really restorative night's sleep. Everything was impeccably clean, from the room to the shared spaces, and it all felt tidy and fresh. You can tell there's care and attention to detail from the moment you arrive. For somewhere clean, quiet, and well managed in Taranto, I'd recommend this B&B.

I've been here twice for work trips, and it's a welcoming, really cute place. The location is excellent for exploring Taranto's main streets and enjoying the sea. The staff are wonderful and always available, and everything is spotless. They provide water and coffee too. Fantastic!

The apartment is attractive, with modern, artistic furnishings and almost all the amenities you'd need. Valentina, the operator, was friendly and helpful, and street parking right beside the property is convenient. Still, I've never written a negative review before, but this experience left me no choice. There were a few minor flaws I won't list, but the main issue was the surprise when we arrived. We booked the largest apartment, described on Booking.com and their website as having a sea-view terrace. The property is on the first floor of a large building, and scaffolding was clearly visible outside because of construction work. We later learned it was related to the 110% bonus. The terrace we were given was unusable, looking like an active worksite with materials left there. Leaving a chair and ashtray outside as if it were fine to use in that condition was disgraceful. Neither Booking.com nor the website mentioned the work, even though those were the places we used to choose and book. When we raised it, Valentina was immediately mortified and said it was connected to the 110% bonus work, which had been suspended for over five months. The booking operators had told her and the owner they would post a notice about it. I understand the construction affects the whole complex, not just this building, but anyone renting an apartment with this sort of exterior problem must disclose it on Booking.com, their website, and other search engines. The lack of transparency was UNACCEPTABLE. If we'd known, we wouldn't have booked the apartment with the sea-view terrace, perhaps the only one among the B&B's rooms with this issue, though I'm not sure, or we'd most likely have chosen somewhere else. We also didn't appreciate that Valentina never even made a simple phone call to apologize for the inconvenience. I really don't recommend the property, both because of the lack of transparency and the high price, especially with the terrace unusable.

The construction work seems to have stopped, since there wasn't any noise, but the "hotel" has apparently been covered in scaffolding for over a year and doesn't look attractive. Several websites say the beach is 200 meters away, yet the nearest one is unfortunately at least a 15-minute drive. The website says washing machines are included, but they aren't. The woman serving breakfast puts in a lot of effort, though for the price I expected something different.
