Bed and Breakfast Loggetta

I'm here now, resting under a warm blanket with milk and a bun, and I just want to wish the owner all the best. I hope she meets people as kind as she is. Earlier tonight, close to nine, I found this place and contacted the signora. She said I could come straight over. I'd been left alone in an unfamiliar city on a winter night after something terrible happened in my life, with no way to get home. I still don't know the language very well, so I was scared I'd have to sleep outside. When I arrived, she offered coffee, then came back a few minutes later with a tray of food, even though that is usually served in the morning. She took me in so calmly and kindly that the whole awful day started to feel like a bad dream. The room has its own bathroom, several tables, a coffee machine, lots of towels and shower products, a big mirrored wardrobe, and table lamps. That's all!)

The room was lovely, spotless, and had everything we needed. The hostess was kind and even waited for us out on the street in the scorching heat to show us the way. Breakfast comes in a basket in the room, with toast, jams, biscuits, croissants, coffee capsules, and tea bags, plus milk and water in the fridge. I booked at the last minute while I was in the area. The B&B is in Tarquinia's historic center, steps from the Etruscan Museum and the heart of town. It's in the pedestrian zone, so you can't drive right up, but there's a large shaded lot just outside the walls for €3 all day. Handy if you don't want your car in sight.

The most frustrating part was the access. We told the owner we were arriving by motorcycle, but she didn't mention that the property can't be reached during restricted traffic hours on Saturdays and Sundays. I had to leave the motorcycle in the parking lot overnight, then push it into the property in the morning to recharge it. We booked one night for €68. Our room had a queen-size bed, a damp ceiling, a tiny bathroom with a bidet built into the toilet, and a little corner with a coffee machine that didn't work. Breakfast was a tea bag, two coffee pods, a snack in an unlabeled clear bag, and two cartons of milk. The property is in a pedestrian zone. I'm speechless, and strongly advise against staying here. My €68 was real, not moldy.

The owner was very welcoming, and the place is well cared for in a really nice central spot, close to everything. My single room was simple but had all the equipment I needed. Coffee and tea were available anytime, and there was a fridge and microwave. A well-earned five stars.
