The bathroom and room had a horrible sewage smell. Of course, not every room is the same, and one time there was no smell in another room. Some rooms have a tiny balcony with a sea view, but at a higher price. If you’re fine with something that feels like 3 stars leaning toward 1, with old fixtures that are often ruined, then fine.

The view at the back is good, but everything else is messed up, especially the restaurant service. It’s just enough for a stay, like a house with a reception desk, a mini bar and a restaurant in the basement, plus an elevator that closes too fast and feels dangerous. There’s no complimentary water, and the free soap and shampoo are tiny. No free toothbrush or toothpaste either. Probably won’t come back.

We booked the cheapest room, which was okay overall. It had a spacious bed, a climatic system, and a small TV. The hotel’s furnishings and general appearance feel a bit old-fashioned.

It’s a simple hotel, with an excellent spot for exploring Tarquinia’s historic center and the area around it. The services are what you’d expect for its star rating. The staff were very nice and helpful with everything.
