Hotel Nevada

The mountain view is wonderful, and the food was quite good. The room itself was small but cozy. The shower was the worst part: confusing to operate, then even once I got warm water, the pressure was so weak I couldn't really use it. The bed pillows also felt very hard. Luckily, I was only there for a day.

The pizza was a real letdown. I ordered the vegetable one and there were hardly any vegetables on it, which didn't seem normal for Italy. My husband got the salsicca y friarelli, but the friarelli was so stringy it wasn't edible. Ordering from the restaurant was inconvenient too: they wouldn't bring food to the room, so we had to wait 60 minutes and carry it up ourselves. There was no room service.

The bike storage is just a garage left open all day, so anyone from the street could get in if they wanted. Noise is another problem: there's a pub across the road with live music outside at night, and the rooms don't block the sound. My room also needed updating, and the shower pressure was so low that having a decent shower was difficult. For me, this feels like a standard or low three-star place, far from a four-star hotel, especially given the price.

Dining at Hotel Nevada felt like a trip through Italian cooking, with the Alpine scenery all around. The lunch menu had handmade pasta, thin wood-fired pizzas with quality toppings, and rich, velvety tiramisu. Dishes used locally sourced ingredients and reflected traditional Italian cuisine. Fresh bread and simmering sauces gave the place a rustic kitchen feel, while the staff were attentive and welcoming. Regional wines rounded out a memorable meal.
