Pausania Inn

The pool area was very clean and well kept. It was a bit cold, but our kids weren't put off. We also had a nice view and pleasant surroundings, plus a good restaurant and a breakfast with lots of choice. The hotel and staff were very nice, and on arrival we were upgraded to a comfort room. The beds were comfortable, the shower was great, and everything was very clean. Good blinds helped us sleep in.

The restaurant was generally good, though some of the dishes we ordered weren't tasty. The grilled vegetables and calamari seemed to vary in quality from one day to another. Breakfast also disappointed us. It felt cheap and plasticky, and we couldn't find any fruit. Our room had an old, noisy AC, and the double bed was really two single mattresses pushed together. We were unlucky with a hotel party that went past midnight. Nobody told us about it when we arrived, and we weren't invited either. Even with the windows shut, it was too loud, and we had to be up around 7 the next morning. We were surprised the hotel allowed that, since people come to rest and sleep, even on vacation. A heads-up about events, updated room amenities, and a better breakfast selection would have made the stay much better.

We were shocked to find rats in our room when we arrived at Pausania Inn. The room was dirty and in unacceptable condition, with stains and dirt on the bed, bathroom, and walls. We decided to leave immediately and did not spend a single night there. The conditions made the accommodation uninhabitable, so we are formally requesting a full refund for our reservation. There were other problems too. The AC didn't work properly, leaving the room hot and stuffy, and the shower pressure was too weak for a proper shower. The furniture was worn out, the room wasn't soundproof, and constant noise made it hard to sleep. The common areas had outdated, shabby decor. Staff were unprofessional and unresponsive when we raised these issues, dismissing our concerns instead of addressing them. Finding rats also points to serious hygiene and pest control problems, and is a health risk for guests. We are extremely disappointed. Paying guests deserved better treatment and a prompt response.

The hotel is clean and welcoming, but getting into town is a real drawback. There are no buses, so it's either a 25-minute walk or €20 each way for a taxi. The walk can feel dangerous because there are no pavements along the main road. It's only a five-minute drive, so I think the hotel should help guests get there, perhaps with a small charge or a pickup and drop-off service.
