Hotel Tirolerhof

The welcome was friendly, breakfast was fine, and our room was clean, though dated. That was about all we enjoyed. The room faced a construction site despite the promised mountain view, and the parking area was too small for the number of guests. There was a bad smell at reception, partly covered up with air fresheners. The pool is there, but the sunbeds sit behind glass facing the parking lot, so lounging there in swimwear felt awkward. We tried the rooftop terrace instead. It had only a few loungers, half with torn fabric, and all covered in bird droppings. A terrace on the first floor looked like a decent spot for a drink, but an unfriendly lady quickly sent us downstairs to the bar/lounge. The fancy furniture there didn’t make up for the carpet, which was full of crumbs, bits of plastic, and torn-off fingernails. The same mess was still there the next evening. Our beer was lukewarm. The playroom wasn’t any better, with a torn rug, broken chairs, and dirty tissues on the floor. The food in the restaurant tasted good, but the tableware hygiene was outrageous. At the salad buffet, we saw a staff member clearing tables pour leftover parmesan from a guest’s small bowl back into the large communal bowl. They did cater for vegetarians, but my main dish was two dry, pan-fried bruschetta slices with no garnish or anything else. It wasn’t satisfying and wasn’t worth the price. Dinner water cost €23 for one bottle, which was just as outrageous. We also never got the included Mobility Card. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel, and I wouldn’t stay again even for free.
