Hotel Mühle Mayer

Fresh rolls, fruit, yoghurt, nuts, seeds, eggs cooked to order, and excellent coffee made breakfast a real treat. There’s no lunch or dinner at the hotel, though Tramin has plenty of cosy restaurants. We spent ten wonderful days at Hotel Muhle Mayer in Tramin on the Wine Route and felt welcome from the start. It sits quietly on the hillside at the edge of the village, with a magnificent valley and mountain view. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and meticulously kept. Everything was spotless and high quality. Our bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the attractive bathroom was clean and stylish, with a great shower. The hotel has a soothing calm about it, with birdsong, rustling trees, and an occasional breeze, and no traffic, music, or bustle. After a hike, there’s an indoor pool filled from the hotel’s own spring, a pleasant sauna, a well equipped fitness room, and a lovely garden with comfortable loungers. What made it especially warm, though, was the personal hospitality of Mrs. Mayer and her team. Their care and passion came through in all the little details. Hotel Muhle Mayer is small, stylish, and cosy, run with a lot of heart. In those ten days we fell in love with the place. It feels more like a warm holiday retreat than a hotel, somewhere you’ll want to return to. Bravissimi!

The garden, pool, and fireplace lounge were all wonderful and spotless, and the whole hotel is lovingly furnished and very well maintained. We’re thrilled with this charming family-run place. The hostess and staff are warm and helpful, and you feel right at home. We’re so glad we found this gem and would love to come back.

We slept and relaxed peacefully, and the old wooden railings didn’t bother us at all. The room was romantic, quiet, and spotlessly clean, with a lovely view of Tramin among the vineyards. Everything felt idyllic, natural, and distinctive. Service was personal, and the indoor pool was incredibly clean and looked brand new. We felt wonderful there and will return. A huge thank you to the 85-year-old owner!

The service and food were lovely. Everything has been designed with so much care, and the hotel was probably the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. Our beautiful romantic room had a nostalgic feel. Absolutely perfect.
