The property has a lot of potential, but it’s been neglected. The vegetation was overgrown and dirty, like a jungle, with pine needles and leaves everywhere. The pool water was green, fit only for frogs. The caretaker was kind, and the interior was the only other bright spot. Our rooms were cozy, but had retro furniture and TVs, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. Spiders and scorpions came as part of the price, too. We stayed for two days as three couples with children. Breakfast was poor, with yesterday’s cake and packaged croissants on offer. They also charge €3 for a bottle of water and €20 to use the microwave to heat dinner, which we clearly didn’t pay for. I strongly advise against staying here.

There’s plenty to do on site for a full day: board games, a pool, a canoe, darts, bocce, table football, and playgrounds. The restaurant, at least when chef Rino was there, served delicious food, though prices were a little above average. A spa is expected soon. The place has an old-fashioned atmosphere and location. Its geographic position will suit many people, but not everyone. It’s very isolated, so it’s inconvenient as a base for excursions. The only access is a long, narrow, dark dirt road, which gets difficult to drive after a certain hour.

Right by the lake, it’s a peaceful place to get away and relax. You can eat there as well. Getting to it is definitely difficult, but if you’re planning to spend a few days unwinding without going elsewhere, it’s worth it. The dogs and chickens are delightful, and the cats are a little less so. :)

Dr. Marino, the owner, is truly friendly and hospitable, and very willing to meet any reasonable request. The property sits in a charming spot on the shore of Lake Piediluco. It’s well cared for, including the large garden, or park. Recommended.

A charming B&B, though a little tricky to reach. The cook is excellent, but I’d suggest eating elsewhere. The trattoria on the main road is worth a try for traditional local dishes at a more affordable price.
