The atmosphere and architecture here are amazing, it really felt like stepping into ancient times. The views are beautiful, and the place is charming and cozy. You do need a car to get there, and with just one restaurant around, bringing some food is a good idea. I'd happily return and stay longer.

At check-in I was told it was walkable, but getting to and from the accommodation meant taking a taxi that cost €20 each way. Even after the taxi, the path to the front door was very steep. There's no shop nearby where you can even buy water.

I never stayed at the house, but I'm giving it two stars because the owner or manager treated me very unfairly. I cancelled a few hours after the free cancellation period had ended, though my stay was still five days away. Even after I made several offers, they wouldn't try to work something out and chose to keep my money. They mocked me instead. I still plan to visit Tirano one day to ride the red train, but I definitely won't stay at La Roncaiola.

We left the car in the parking lot and walked the 300 meters to the house. That detail is clearly mentioned in the description, and it was absolutely worth it. This fairytale place was a clean, well-furnished love nest for the four days we spent there. The lady who checked us in was kind and thoughtful. I don't know what it cost since it was a gift from my love, but my husband was happy and the value for money was excellent. I highly recommend it ❤️

The drive up the mountain is a little narrow, but it's worth making the trip. What a fantastic place, with room for up to six people ❤️
