Matteo speaks excellent English and was thoughtful enough to give us a map and restaurant recommendations. The apartment was even more beautiful than the photos, very comfortable, and had both heating and AC. We loved the two shuttered balconies for the breeze and sun, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had breakfast each morning on the large balcony from Bar Castorani, where I had one of the best chocolate pastries I’ve ever eaten. We can’t wait to come back. My husband and I stayed three nights in late April for our honeymoon, and this is my favorite of the 20-plus rentals I’ve stayed in over five years of travel, by far. The location in the historic town centre is hard to beat: about five minutes on foot to Villa Gregoriana, seven to Villa d’Este, and an easy ten-minute walk to the train station. You can walk everywhere from here, but the area doesn’t feel touristy.

Matteo and his brother were welcoming and attentive, and the family-run apartment felt very homey. I stayed a few nights while exploring Tivoli and enjoyed it a lot. It’s only a few minutes’ walk from the main sights and some great restaurants. Highly recommended!

A lovely apartment in Tivoli’s old town, but getting up to the third floor means taking stone stairs with extra half-landings. It isn’t suitable for people with reduced mobility or families with young children, and the listing should say so. Basic breakfast is available at the bar on the square.

The apartment was spotless and very well kept, and Matteo and Annamaria were kind and helpful. Their restaurant suggestions were much appreciated. It’s right in the historic centre, with pizzerias, restaurants, and grocery shops practically at the door, while both Villa d'Este and Villa Gregoriana are a five-minute walk away. Couldn’t ask for a better spot!
