Thanks for making me feel welcome and helping make my stay pleasant. I hope these suggestions are useful as the property continues to improve. Wi-Fi barely worked, and it took me an hour just to find somewhere to eat. The breakfast was fine, though a few fresher choices would help. I also missed having even basic soap or toiletries in the shower; small refillable dispensers or single-use options would be useful. The rain came down right outside my door during a heavy storm and kept me awake. A gutter or another way to redirect the runoff could keep water away from the entrance and make it safer. A few hooks or a little rack for coats and towels would help with storage, too. The lighting felt harsh because most of the bulbs were very cool daylight ones. Warmer bulbs, plus a dimmer or lamp, could make evenings feel cozier and less institutional. A small focal point, perhaps an electric fireplace, attractive heater, or tasteful decorative fireplace, might also encourage guests to relax in the room instead of feeling they need to bundle up. The bed wasn't comfortable: the mattress and sheets bothered me, and the frame clicked whenever I moved. A better mattress or topper, breathable cotton sheets, and tightening or replacing the frame could improve sleep. A small rug by the bed would also make the cold brick floor nicer in the morning.
