Il Falco Del Cilento

Tucked away in the fields, this place turned out to be a real find. We tried several dishes and were blown away by the ingredients and how good everything tasted. We were told the vegetables came from their own farm and the meat from a local source. The food was all homemade.

That view really impressed us, see the attached picture. Our room was pleasant and right by the pool, and we enjoyed a lovely dinner too. It would be great if the host offered guests a chance to learn about the farm's products, like the olive oil, cheese, and vegetables. I'd have loved to see how they're made.

I was shocked when the owner told me not to come back to use the pool because going up and down the stairs twice was too much trouble for her, once to note my arrival time and again to take payment. I’d asked politely if I could use the B&B pool for an hour, and she agreed. Over the following couple of weeks, I kept calling to check whether it was available and went there politely. She seemed annoyed when I used the service, and although I’d noticed she could be a bit rude, I hadn’t thought much of it. I don’t think I’ve ever been treated this badly as a paying customer.

The hillside setting is gorgeous, with green trees, vivid colors, fresh air, and a cool breeze on the huge terrace. It feels wonderfully light there, almost like the perfect place to reach your ideal weight. The chef's tricks seem to be long waits between courses and very little salt. For an even higher flight into the sky, try the Cilento goat ragù fusilli, bones included. A falcon in heaven 💫
