The portions are enormous, and the Umbrian mixed grill and antipasti were heavenly. Everything was cooked just right, especially the pork. Their tiramisu tasted like the authentic Italian kind, with the coffee coming through in a rich, balanced way. I wish I could go back already!

We had a lovely dinner at Shropshire. The restaurant is beautiful, with a great atmosphere, and both the service and food were absolutely delicious.

The interior is pleasant, and the service was good. The food and wine were good too, and it’s great that they have menu choices for children, which many Italian restaurants don’t. My only small gripe: the Carbonara pasta was too salty, and I usually like quite a lot of salt. Recommended.

We managed to get a table for lunch without a reservation, but the restaurant was full just 20 minutes later. No surprise, since the local food is terrific and there’s plenty of variety on the menu. Service was friendly and efficient. People tend to dress smartly and linger over lunch. Choose between an appetizer and dessert early, because having both may be too much.

A relaxed place for a meal with family or friends, with a menu built around local cooking and some original takes on traditional dishes. The quality is high and the prices are very reasonable. It’s in Torgiano, a beautiful village near Perugia, and is easily one of my favorite restaurants in and around the area. Absolutely recommended!
