B & B Tornoallariva

We chose to eat indoors because the patio had quite a few smokers. We had dinner here twice during our four nights in Torno, and enjoyed everything we ordered: mushroom risotto, ham and artichoke pizza, wurst sausage with mustard, and eggplant parmigiana. The service was excellent, and we liked the fun Motown playlist.

A handy spot to grab a quick bite between ferries. The prices are good, the service is friendly, and the salads and pizzas are great. Lovely view, too.

We never stayed at the B&B, so I can’t comment on the rooms, but we came back to eat at B&B Bar Italia several times. The restaurant downstairs is lovely and really affordable. We had three courses with a bottle of wine for about 50 euros. The house wine was inexpensive and genuinely good, and I’m pretty picky about wine. Cocktails came with potato chips and bread with toppings, and the menu had plenty to choose from, including salads, pasta like spaghetti and lasagna, and pizza. For dessert there were several ice cream Sunday options and a daily tart. The food was good quality for the price. The outdoor patio is the real draw, with a fantastic lake view and about six tables. There are a few tables inside too. They take reservations, and in August on the weekend they were nearly booked, so getting a table was hard. Lots of Italian locals were meeting friends there, along with British, French, German and American tourists, couples on dates and families with kids. It was lively and loud, and we enjoyed watching everyone. The waitresses were friendly young women who spoke English to us, and the manager went out of their way to make room for us. I was glad to return with our custom.

A nice restaurant for lasagne, risotto and good coffee. There are things for kids to do, too.
