Country House Sul Bussento

Breakfast could use a little more imagination, and it’d be great if the restaurant reopened someday. Still, it’s a relaxing spot with clean, air-conditioned rooms. Giuseppe and his father were polite and happy to answer questions. Recommended, and thanks for everything. See you soon, Forza Napoli!

The place feels very dated, though it sits in an excellent location surrounded by woods. On the last stretch of the drive, arriving late in the evening, we came across several wild boars and all kinds of game.

We’ve been twice, and I recommend the cavatelli alla norma and the ricotta-filled pasta. The first courses are truly exceptional, with modest prices. The place is easy to find and has a lovely river view. The two gentlemen from the kitchen came out to serve us, and they were both delightful.

I’ve been coming here for years and always enjoy returning. It’s a family-run place surrounded by greenery, with a view of the river. Signora Caterina, her husband Domenico, and their son Giuseppe make you feel at home. The food is simple and wholesome, with homemade pasta, excellent cold cuts, and good wine. Prices are modest.
