Hotel Eden

The lake views from our large balcony were beautiful, and the room was very nice, with a good bathroom and hairdryer. We stayed three nights and would definitely come back. The pool area was lovely, with food and drinks available, and they even gave us a complimentary plate of fruit. The hotel is quaint, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Five stars in my opinion.

The rooms were clean and the pool area was very nice, but our two-week stay was a letdown. Most guests seemed to stay for a week, and we were put in the smallest room in the hotel. On the second day, the air conditioning broke. They gave us a small humidifier, which did nothing to cool the south-facing room under the roof. We weren’t moved until a week later, to a room that was apparently the same category but twice as large. The staff were very rude. They told us not to travel to Italy in summer if we couldn’t handle the heat, and said they didn’t have AC at home either, so it was “no problem.” We got the impression they focused a lot on regular guests with dogs who return every year. Breakfast was very basic, with the same stale bread and really bad coffee for the whole two weeks. There was no wardrobe, just a few hangers, so we had to live out of our suitcase the entire time.

The free parking was convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The main problem was breakfast, which felt like an afterthought even though it was included in the room rate. Almost nothing was replenished during breakfast hours, including drinks, pastries and basic items. Photos taken mid-breakfast showed empty trays and dispensers. There was only one staff member, who spent most of the time clearing used dishes rather than restocking. Guests asked repeatedly, but there was no noticeable improvement. One morning, some spreads, including the Nutella-style chocolate one, had a strange, off-putting texture that didn’t give much confidence in their freshness or quality. Coffee and cappuccino from the old fully automatic machine tasted anything but fresh. Breakfast needs serious improvement. The bathroom was small and dark, the room wasn’t particularly spacious, and there was no wardrobe, only a single clothes rail.

The lake is just seconds away, and the hotel has a fantastic pool area with great views. Lovely family run place.
