The owner was very friendly, and the hotel is beautiful.

The room was unbearably hot, 40 degrees Celsius, with no air conditioning or even a fan. The owner was unpleasant, disrespectful and very rude. We paid €130 a night, but getting back in after midnight was impossible because the gate was locked, and he refused to give us the keys to our room. That's unheard of in a hotel. He only speaks Italian and doesn't speak English. This was shameful behavior, especially in a tourist area like Lake Garda. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

The hosts were attentive, hospitable and kept the place clean, which made up for some of the problems. This is a family-run hotel with warm, friendly service, set in a beautiful olive grove where you could relax if the road weren't so close. Road noise spoiled the stay, though the lake is only five minutes away. Inside, it was terrible: the partitions seemed like cardboard, so you could hear everything, including conversations in the lobby and hallway. On the first night, I thought someone was banging on the window and moving the blinds, but it turned out to be the neighbors flushing the toilet. You could hear it from next door and the rooms above. Our room had no air conditioning, TV or minibar. The furniture was old, the mattresses awful, and when I asked for a blanket they brought an old wool one that I'm allergic to. Breakfast was very simple, but fresh, and the pastries and coffee were delicious.
