The view made up for quite a few shortcomings, so we still had a good stay. Our recently renovated villa was clean and modern, and it took 15 minutes to walk down to Garda Town, according to the receptionist. In reality it was over 30 minutes, with a steep incline that made the walk difficult. The location is a real drawback if you don’t have a car. Getting there from Verona airport took us 3-4 hours and three different bus routes, while an Uber from the airport was ridiculously expensive. I’d suggest renting a car at Verona Airport if you’re comfortable driving. There’s no staff on site after 6-7pm, and breakfast has limited choices, with no eggs made to order or baked beans, for example.

The pool is large and clean, and Residence San Michele has a lovely lake view. We were traveling with kids aged 10 and 4, so the clean, well-equipped room with a reasonable amount of space worked well for us. The restaurant is very nice, though a bit pricey. We would have liked a cheaper or different lunch menu, especially for days spent around the pool. You do need to drive to reach the nearest shop or restaurant, which can be a hassle. There also aren’t many places to walk a dog nearby.

We felt right at home here and would definitely return, both to Lago de Gardo and especially to this place. Dinner was lovely under the pine trees, with soft music, excellent food and great wines. Go with your eyes closed.

We stayed two nights to explore Garda lake, and they provided a crib for our child. Whenever I had a question, I got an immediate answer. The staff were so sweet and kind 💕 We tried breakfast and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. My picky son found things he liked too. We also had dinner there one evening and loved everything we ordered. The one thing I’d improve is the hall, which looks like a dorm.
