The complex is lovely, but we wouldn’t stay there again. Apartment A2 at the Albatros Residence was nicely furnished, and the kitchen had what we needed to cook, including a large refrigerator. The listing also promised a dishwasher and microwave, but neither was there. The apartment was mostly clean, though there was dust under the bed and the bin still had the previous guests’ glass bottles in it. The pool was dirty, with lots of leaves floating in the water. Extra charges for bed linen, towels, pets, and tourist tax were tucked away in the house rules. Those costs weren’t the biggest issue, but they weren’t obvious. The worst part was the woman who called herself Daniela, who practically harassed us on WhatsApp. She messaged every day and called early in the morning demanding the €82 extra payment. We repeatedly gave her our email and asked for an invoice so we could transfer the money, but she insisted on cash and said she wanted a colleague to collect it. We weren’t going to plan our holiday around her, and insisted on paying against an official invoice. Then she called and texted to ask if we were home and whether we had the apartment by the pool. We didn’t see those messages until later. The next morning, we learned that other guests were having trouble checking in because nobody official was there. We suspected we were expected to unlock the apartment for them and show them where to go. Being contacted constantly over WhatsApp while on holiday is unacceptable. After we reported her to Airbnb, we were supposed to pay the hidden extra costs through Airbnb, but that didn’t work because we kept getting an error message. We absolutely DO NOT recommend this landlady! A few other things to know: the complex is reached by very narrow alleys and streets, which could be difficult in a wider car. It uses self check-in, but there’s no proper key box. The key was in the gas connection box beside the apartment. The grounds are fully fenced, and we had to climb over a roughly waist-high fence to get the key because we didn’t yet have a gate key. That could be a problem for elderly people or anyone with a disability. The whole complex is on a slope, with several steps depending on the apartment, so it isn’t suitable for wheelchair users or people with disabilities. Some apartments have small gardens covered in artificial turf. The location is generally quiet and right beside the golf course, but they mowed the grass every day, even early in the morning, so it wasn’t exactly peaceful.

The rooms are well maintained, and we got a perfect welcome. There was no connection to Lake Garda, and the pool was dirty.

It was all fine and clean. Reaching the place was a little tricky in a large car, but manageable.
