BB La Mimosa

The B&B itself is adequate, but the website gives misleading information about parking. You can't use it if you arrive after a certain time or go out in the evening, so basically you're expected to leave your car inside and walk. We didn't choose breakfast, and the next morning they took the water bottles out of the fridge. The site doesn't say it, but air conditioning costs an extra €5 a day.

There were six of us booked across three bedrooms, but we ended up squeezed into a single room. Reaching the beds along the sides meant crawling over the other beds. The bathroom was awful and had none of the basic things you'd expect, just four bath towels. Breakfast was more suited to children than adults. A stay to forget, shocking and not recommended!

I'll be back in two weeks and I'm already looking forward to it. I've stayed at B&B La Mimosa many times, after traveling all over the world and staying in every kind of hotel on every continent before retiring as a tour operator. I've chosen some places for the price, some for status, and some because I had to, but in Trabia I chose La Mimosa because I was being careful. Mr. Nino is incredibly kind, the rooms are spotless and have every comfort, including air conditioning and TV, and you can come and go freely. Breakfast really is excellent, too. The B&B is only five minutes from the free highway, a few kilometers from Palermo, Cefalù, and Termini Imerese, and well connected to major tourist and commercial destinations. Prices are incredibly affordable.

The only real drawback is the shared breakfast and dining room: it's quite large and unheated. The B&B itself is very nice, with colorful photos from the owner's world travels displayed all around the rooms.
