I came for a friend's wedding, and before arriving I'd only seen the venue online. I figured it was by the sea, so the view must be nice. From check-in, though, the whole experience turned out to be amazing and unforgettable. The staff felt like a family looking out for everything I needed. Rosa even helped a friend who was having the worst period cramps ever. During dinner, the attention to guests and tables was almost startling. Water was always fresh and never ran out, the table stayed clean, and the food was always good. The chefs, attentive waiters, and caretakers all worked so hard. And the food! It cured my depression, literally. Every dessert, appetizer, and main course was great. The cheeses made on the spot were, I dare say, better than the ones I tried in Trastevere. Villa ascosa deserves every penny. It wouldn't be fair to compare it to five-star hotels like mandarin group or hyatt, but the staff are far more dedicated, and their care made me feel like part of the family. This is a hidden gem, and I'm glad I found it and got to know the staff, chefs, and everyone there. Whenever I visit Italy, this will be the place I try to stay.

Come here if you want service that ignores you, with staff who seem skilled at acting like guests aren't there. The rooms are like damp, mouldy stalactite caves, and every morning brings an ice-cold shower for that “authentic pre-ancient experience.” Breakfast is a champions' spread of cold coffee, two Cornettos, two pieces of bread, and some ham. You'll feel like this place is absolute heaven. It's a pity one star is the lowest rating available. Even that is still too positive.
